Talk about a brutal press tour!
Jack Quaid appeared at the Los Angeles Clippers game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday to promote his new film “Novocaine” with a slew of fake injuries that got progressively worse as the game went on.
In “Novocaine,” Quaid stars as Nate, a mild-mannered bank executive who can not feel any physical pain due to a rare genetic condition. When his co-worker and love interest, Sherry (Amber Midthunder), is kidnapped during a bank robbery, Nate must use his “super power” to rescue her. The film also stars Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, Betty Gabriel and Matt Walsh.
In a fun nod to the film’s premise, Quaid’s NBA courtside appearance featured the actor getting progressively more injured each time the camera panned to him. Like the character though, the wounds did not effect his good time. In a video posted to X by Pop Crave, the actor first appeared with a black eye, a bloody nose and his arm in a sling. “The Boys” star sits next to Midthunder, who also appeared to promote “Novocaine.”
“Is it just me … or is Jack Quaid getting worse as this game goes on,” the first caption in the video reads.

Later in the video both actors appear on the court and talk about how excited they are to be at the game. This time however, Quaid is wearing a neck brace, a new arm cast and has some fresh bruises on his face.
At the end of the video, a caption reads, “Someone get Novocaine to a hospital,” as Quaid appears a final time — now wearing a head bandage and a second arm cast.
The hilarious marketing campaign quickly went viral as fans delighted in seeing the actor get “pummeled” more and more. As many athletes say, no pain, no gain — but in this case, the adage might be no pain, no promo?
