Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles know they have plenty of decisions to make this offseason. The organization has already lost five starters on defense from their Super Bowl win a month ago.
Another starter could be departing soon as well.
Dallas Goedert, the star tight end of the Eagles, is entering the final year of his contract, has struggled to stay on the field, and is in line for another big payday. Philadelphia may simply want no part in giving a 30-year-old tight end that kind of money, though.
At least that's what some reports around the league are saying.
"There are league sources who believe the Eagles are holding out hope for at least a 4th-round pick for TE Dallas Goedert in a potential trade, even if said pick was from later years like 26' or '27," Josina Anderson reported. "However, a lower pick & more of a salary adjustment is needed for some* teams to continue conversations.
"Either way, Goedert is a Super Bowl champion and one of the nicer people you'll speak to in the league, and in that locker room."
Goedert caught 42 passes for 496 yards and 2 TDs during the regular season despite missing seven games. He was dominant in the playoffs, though as he caught 17 passes on 20 targets for 215 yards (10.8 yards per target), and 1 TD.

The South Dakota State product's future is clouded. On one hand, the Eagles could draft his replacement in a loaded class this year. They simply don't want to pay a tight end who can't stay on the field a cap hit of over $11 million like they are scheduled to do.
A trade makes a lot of sense, but a restructure could do the same as well if no trade partner comes to fruition.
Whatever the case, changes are coming to the Eagles and it appears they are hitting their offense as well.
