Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are poised for a blockbuster clash at Anfield tonight in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. With the Reds holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg, the stage is set for a high-stakes encounter between two European heavyweights.

Liverpool enter tonight with history firmly on their side. The Reds have never been eliminated from a European tie after winning the first leg away from home, a record that underscores their pedigree in knockout football.

According to Opta’s supercomputer, Liverpool have a 75% chance of advancing to the quarter-finals, while PSG’s chances stand at just 25%.

PSG, however, are emboldened by their dominant first-leg performance and buoyed by growing confidence within their camp and the French media.

The Parisans arrive off the back of a 4-1 win over Rennes in Ligue 1 action over the weekend, with no fresh concerns for Luis Enrique.

The likes of Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were rested from the start of the game, although some came on as substitutes:

“I think all the players are fine. There are no injuries. The result is excellent against a team that gave us a hard time but we achieved our objective,” Enrique said.

“The first leg leaves us no options: we have to win, that’s the objective. Nothing will change compared to the other matches, we play to win, but that’s the objective.”

Liverpool XI to face PSG:

Alisson, Robertson, Van Dijk (C), Konate, Alexander-Arnold; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Diaz, Jota, Salah
