Jack Quaid knows how to commit to a bit.
The actor — who headlines the new movie Novocaine as a man who can't feel pain — went full method at Sunday night's Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Clippers game. Fans spotted Quaid cheering on the L.A. team in the crowd, but each time the actor was seen, he looked progressively more beat up.
In a video posted to X, a fan shared footage of Quaid throughout the evening and wrote, "Is it just me… or is Jack Quaid getting worse as this game goes on?"
The first clip sees the game camera zoom in on Quaid, who is sporting a black eye, a bloody nose, and an arm sling while sitting beside his Novocaine co-star Amber Midthunder. Despite the many bruises and injuries, Quaid is in high spirits as he cheers.
Later, the camera finds him again, looking even more battered than before. This time, Quaid's arm sling has become a full cast and is accompanied by a neck brace.

"Where did he get the brace!?” asks the caption. Again, Quaid seems unbothered by his wounds and doesn't acknowledge them at all while speaking to a reporter, instead sharing how "happy" he felt to be at the game.
The third time the camera finds him, Quaid still has the cast and neck brace, in addition to new bruises and a bandage around his head. “Someone get Novocaine over here to the hospital," came the final caption.

Quaid fans have nothing to worry about though — the actor (probably) wasn't actually getting pummeled during the basketball game. He was simply promoting the release of his upcoming action film, which follows an introverted man whose inability to feel pain comes in handy when the girl of his dreams is kidnapped, prompting him to mount a very dangerous rescue mission.

Based on footage from the film, Quaid's NBA game injuries are nothing compared to the injuries his character, Nathan Caine, will sustain. The trailer alone sees him take a knife to the palm, stick his hand in a vat of boiling oil, and get stabbed in the leg. Luckily, Nathan can't feel a thing. As for Quaid, fans of his work on The Boys know that being covered in blood and bruises for the camera is nothing new for the actor.

In addition to Quaid and Midthunder, Novocaine stars Jack Nicholson's son Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), and Matt Walsh (Veep).
Novocaine arrives in theaters on Friday, March 14.
