Ahead of their Champions League face-off with PSG, Liverpool fans created a sea of red flares to welcome their team to Anfield.

The Reds are back in action in Europe's top-tier competition, hosting Luis Enrique and PSG for the second leg of their round of 16 clash after a victorious weekend over Southampton.

In the first leg, Liverpool managed to scrape a 1-0 win, courtesy of a late goal from Harvey Elliott in Paris. Despite PSG dominating the game, they were unable to break past Alisson in the Reds' net.

Alisson was indeed the star player in Paris, delivering a man-of-the-match performance to fend off Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele.

As the match at Anfield approached, Liverpool fans set off flares outside the stadium, creating an intimidating atmosphere for PSG and their supporters, reports Liverpool.com.

PSG fans were escorted by police to the stadium as their team aims to overturn a 1-0 deficit and secure a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.

However, they'll have to beat a Liverpool team that's only suffered one home defeat this season to progress.

Slot has selected a strong line-up against PSG, with Alisson in goal and a defensive quartet of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

The midfield sees Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch starting, with Dominik Szoboszlai playing further forward. The Reds' attacking trio consists of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

On the other hand, PSG manager Luis Enrique has kept his team unchanged from the first leg, with Gianluigi Donnarumma as goalkeeper.

The Parisian defence includes Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho, Marquinhos and Nuno Mendes, while Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha and Joao Neves makeup the midfield.
