Brighton have been widely praised for their off-field operations after making several big-money sales over the past few years.

The Premier League side recorded a pre-tax profit of £73.3million following Moises Caicedo’s record-breaking £115million move to Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

Their revenue surged from £204.5million in 2022-23 to a club-record figure of £260.9million, including the New Monks Farm development.

The Sussex club’s broadcast revenue increased from £155.2million to £163.8million, while their matchday income rose from £24.6million to £27.9million after featuring in the Europa League.

Elsewhere, commercial revenue at the Amex Stadium improved from £17.9million to £20.9million across the same period.

Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Brighton could sell more players in big-money deals to continue increasing their profits moving forward.

Brighton could land significant financial boost after Champions League reveal

Borson insisted Champions League qualification could drastically improve Brighton’s financial situation.

He told Football Insider: “They are well-run, but a lot of that was because they had some big player sales in the year.

“It’s not always easy to keep that flow going. As it happens, I actually suspect that they are a club that could sell further players.

“We know that they turned down a Mitoma bid from Saudi Arabia in January that was very significant, so we do know that they’ve probably got other players.

“The way that their numbers look at the moment is kind of dependent on those player sales, but they’re definitely well-run. The wage bill is appropriate for a club of their revenue and they’re clearly well up the table.

“They have no risk of relegation, have some possibility of getting in the Europa League, probably not in the Champions League, although it is still bunched.

“It’s not impossible if they put a good run together that they could get fifth place. Maybe one of these teams that are in that zone down to 10th will crack it.

“Clearly, if it’s one of these teams like Brighton that gets into the Champions League, that is going to make everything look very different from a financial perspective.”
