English Tourism Week is very nearly upon us.
And Manchester is a massive city filled with some amazing things to do.
So I’ve divised my guide to how I would spend an afternoon if I were visiting this city for the very first time.
And we're going to start with Affleck's Palace.
Now Affleck's Palace has been operating in Manchester's Northern Quarter for more than 40 years now and it has a bunch of amazing things to do.
From places like the Manchester Store where you can get a whole bunch of Manchester themed merch and learn a little bit about the city's history as well.
To places like Hempology or Occult, which really serve alternative people.
Hempology is sort of renewable t-shirts and socks made from hemp.
Occult is for anyone who loves piercings.

It’s really full of alternative edgy fashion making Affleck’s an ideal shopping hangout for those looking for something a bit different.
The Northern Quarter is the creative hub of the city.
And on top of shops like that you have places like Milner & Son, which is an old vintage store with a massive range of old Doc Martens boots as well as some awesome clothes. As well as jewellery stores.
On the top floor you've got cafes and a vinyl resting place, which is a brilliant music shop.
A lot of the places inside Affleck's Palace have been open for years and years and it really is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours.
It should give you the opportunity to shop and also learn a bit more about that part of the city.

For a different kind of cultural offering Manchester's Art Gallery is completely free to enter.
They do ask for donations so it might be worth bringing a couple of quid along to throw in a pot.
But it really is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours.
There's a massive range of really really great artwork in there and the building itself is awesome.
There's also a room where kids can spend some time relaxing and playing with toys which should give you as an adult or parent if you're bringing your family along the opportunity to go around the art gallery and properly take in some of the amazing things that they've got.
It's spread over a number of floors, there's a great store as well and I really really can't recommend it enough as a perfect quiet way of spending a bit of time.
And with it being so close to the Northern Quarter, probably only a 10 minute walk, it'll be very easy to fit this into your plan for the day.
But once you've finished at the art gallery it's probably time for some refreshments.
And just on the far side of Piccadilly you have two of the best breweries in Manchester within a minute's walk of each other.

That is Cloudwater Brewery, it's a really great local brewery with a massive range of awesome beers.
And just across the way you've got Track Brewery too which is more of the same.
You can easily go from one to the other and get different pints in each one.
The atmosphere in both places is wonderful and having learned quite a lot about both breweries I can tell you that there is nowhere that I would rather buy a beer now.
Where are your favourite places to visit for a day in Manchester?
