Bruno Guimaraes' friend leaks his secret plan for when Newcastle United face Liverpool

Newcastle United now have all eyes on the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The Magpies are looking to bring a cup back to Tyneside for the first time since 1969, a win against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

Eddie Howe was delighted with his side’s performance on Monday, a 1-0 win against West Ham United in their first trip to the capital of the week.

Newcastle’s win against West Ham gives them a good amount of momentum going into the game, but there will also surely be eyes on Liverpool’s game against PSG on Tuesday night. Harvey Barnes gave a good account of himself for Newcastle, bagging the assist for Bruno Guimaraes’ winner. However, Barnes may not start the Carabao Cup final and could look to the likes of Joelinton or Joe Willock to play on the left wing.

Guimaraes took to social media to celebrate the win and dedicate the goal to his son, who turned one on Monday.

Now, it has been revealed that Guimaraes is planning to do something for the final which will please Newcastle fans.

Bruno Guimaraes to bring back the blonde for Carabao Cup final

Guimaraes has been sensational this season, taking the captain’s armband and performing like a leader throughout the campaign.

The Brazilian scored his third Premier League goal of the season on Monday, taking his total number of goal involvements to nine for the season.

A recent TikTok from barber Alisson Rodrigues showed Guimaraes getting a fresh trim ahead of the West Ham game, the 27-year-old is presented in the video, saying: “Fire, see you soon boys.”

In the comments section, one commenter asked if it was his ‘Wembley trim’ to which Rodrigues replied: “Not yet, white hair for Wembley.”

Guimaraes has already given the bleach-blonde look a runout this season but will run it back for the trip to Wembley. Both he and Joelinton sported the blonde look in the 2023 Carabao Cup with a black and white heart included, perhaps they may incorporate that extra feature in this time around as well.

Bruno Guimaraes named in Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week

While many Newcastle fans are just pleased to be closer to the cup final without any extra injuries, the win also sees them move up to sixth in the Premier League table.

Guimaraes’ brilliant performance was enough for Toon legend Alan Shearer to name him in his Premier League team of the week.

Shearer also named former Newcastle shot-stopper Matz Sels in his team. The Belgian is having a fine season at Nottingham Forest, recently keeping a clean sheet against defending league champions Manchester City.

On Guimaraes’ performance, Shearer told the Premier League website: “The captain led by example, stepping up with the winner. He did brilliantly to get on the end of Harvey Barnes’s cross and produce a fine finish.”

Shearer will be hoping that Guimaraes can put in a similar performance at Wembley on Sunday.
