Arsenal are back in Champions League action this week

Arsenal drew 1-1 away at Manchester United in their last Premier League outing. Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring for the hosts before Declan Rice equalised.

The Gunners are sat in 2nd place in the table behind Liverpool. They are set to fall short of the title once again this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side are back in action on Wednesday evening with a home clash against PSV in the Champions League. They won 7-1 away in Holland in the first leg.

Andrea Berta admirers of Wolves star Matheus Cunha

Andrea Berta, who is in talks to become Arsenal’s new sporting director, has revealed his admiration of Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha. According to TBR Football, he has outlined his desire to sign the forward in the future.

Cunha, 25, has been a key player for the Midlands outfit this season and they won’t want to lose him anytime soon. However, they could face a battle to keep hold of him in the summer.

The Brazilian has made 85 appearances since his move over to England and has scored 31 goals, 15 of which have come in this campaign. If Arsenal were to sign him, he would give them more competition and depth in attack and another option to pick from.

Cunha has also had spells in the past at FC Sion, RB Leipzig, Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid. He has adapted well to life at Wolves and has become one of their key players.

He was handed a new deal earlier this year meaning they are under no pressure to sell him. Following his extension, chairman Jeff Shi said: “Matheus has been on an amazing journey with us over the past two years and it’s been a privilege to see him grow into a big part of the Wolves family.

“Matheus has a good relationship with everyone at Compton Park, his personality is infectious to those around him, and we hope this new contract will provide a boost to the group.

“We can all see his quality on the pitch, but off it he’s developed into a leader of the group, and we’re delighted that he’s signed a new contract. It’s always important to us that we reward our strongest and most impactful players, and Matheus deserves this new deal.”

Mikel Arteta’s reaction to Manchester United draw

Arsenal could only manage a point against Manchester United last time out. Speaking afterwards, Arteta said: “I’m very frustrated that we didn't win the game because that's how we prepared for it. I think we were really good in the first half in terms of dominance, in our high press, dealing with direct play, getting out of the press and arriving to the last 20 metres. Then we lacked to put the knife through with more decisive actions, more accuracy in that ball to threaten more.

“We had two or three big moments without giving them nothing, then in one long ball we don't manage the recovery ball in the right way. We make a foul and you have to rely on the quality of the position. They have one chance, they score and from there, it's game on. That gives them momentum, belief and energy.”
