Ja Morant Sends Message After Teammate’s Heated Moment With Kevin Durant

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Phoenix Suns 120-118 in a thrilling contest, completing a season sweep over their Western Conference rivals. The victory marked another standout performance from All-Star guard Ja Morant, who delivered 29 points, 12 assists, and four rebounds. Morant has now scored at least 25 points in three consecutive games, helping the Grizzlies secure three straight wins.

While Morant led the charge, rookie guard Cam Spencer stole the spotlight with his fiery moment against Kevin Durant. After draining a three-pointer over the Suns star, Spencer appeared to exchange words with Durant, leading to an intense on-court altercation.

Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane quickly stepped in to back up his teammate before officials and players separated both sides. Durant nearly had the final say, knocking down a three in the closing seconds to cut the Grizzlies' lead to just two points. However, he missed a last-second attempt that would have won the game for the Suns.

Following the win, Morant was asked about the heated moment and how it fueled the team's energy down the stretch.

"I feel like it's what we all needed," the two-time All-Star said. "In the timeout, I told the team we pretty much have moments where we are not in front of the fans... that was pretty much the message: bring our own energy and have the fans back us up."

The Grizzlies appear to be regaining their rhythm after struggling in the weeks following the All-Star break. Their latest victory improves them to 41-24, keeping them in a competitive battle with the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets for a top playoff seed in the Western Conference.

Memphis will look to extend its winning streak when they take on the Utah Jazz on Wednesday before a marquee showdown against the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers.
