He dealt with a heel, calf, groin, forearm, and shoulder injury, causing him to miss 13.75% of snaps.

Tyrann Mathieu enters the final year of his 2-year, $13.75 million restructured contract and was scheduled to earn a $6.25 million base salary, a $4.067 million prorated signing bonus, along with a $11.317 million cap hit in 2025. Because of his age, turning 33 in May, his recent injury history, and the Saints’ current cap situation, Mathieu could be a cap casualty. If the front office were to cut him, it would be a post-June 1st cut, freeing $6.25 million on June 2nd, allowing the $12.301 million dead cap hit to be spread into the 2026 offseason.

According to Nick Underhill of New Orleans.Football, the Saints, and Tyrann Mathieu have agreed to a one-year $3.5 million restructured contract worth up to $7.25 million with incentives. As a result, Mathieu’s $6.25 million base salary drops to $3.5 million, while his prorated signing bonus remains in the books, and his $11.317 million cap hit drops to $7.567 million, freeing up approximately $3.75 million in the process.
