Dolphins Poach Titans WR Coming off Career Year

The Tennessee Titans have been fairly active in free agency thus far under first-year general manager Mike Borgonzi. While many feel that the Titans are more than a few moves away from competing and the new regime should be patient this offseason, Borgonzi has been rather aggressive.

He handed out an $82 million deal to offensive tackle Dan Moore and $21 million to linebacker Cody Barton, but he failed to bring back one of the team's best pass catchers from last season at a cheap price. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Tuesday afternoon that wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was signing a two-year deal with the Miami Dolphins worth up to $6.5 million.

Westbrook-Ikhine had a breakout performance for the Titans last season in his first year under head coach Brian Callahan. The five-year veteran set a career-high in both receiving yards and touchdowns in 2024 and had a nose for finding the endzone.

Miami swept in, however, with a multi-year deal and was able to sign the former Indiana Hoosier. Many felt that the team was going to make him a priority to re-sign this offseason but it seems that Borgonzi did not value him the way Ran Carthon did.

Tennessee will have to find another solution for their secondary wide receiver now alongside Calvin Ridley. They could always bring back a veteran like Tyler Boyd, but his best years are behind him, so the team will likely look toward the draft to fill Westbrook-Ikhine's void.
