12 Cowboys set to take part in annual pro day; hope to earn shot at NFL

While the buzz of future stardom may not hover around Wyoming's 2025 senior class, the dreams of a professional career playing the game of football have never been closer to reality.

Wyoming will hold its annual pro day on Wednesday at its Indoor Practice Facility. A dozen Cowboys are scheduled to complete a full range of testing in front of NFL scouts including the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone test, 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle and the bench press in addition to position oriented testing. Those 12 Cowboys are: Alex Brown, Jordan Bertagnole, Jack Culbreath, Caleb Driskill, Wyett Ekeler, DeVonne Harris, John Hoyland, Nick Miles, Connor Shay, Shae Suiaunoa, Nofoafia Tulafono and Isaac White.

Among the group, Casper native Bertagnole along with Hoyland and the Pokes' former linebacker tandem of Shay and Suiaunoa will likely be watched most closely by scouts in attendance. After receiving a second-team All-Conference honor following his junior season, Bertagnole fell short of the preseason expectations thrust on him ahead of his senior year.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive tackle finished with 25 tackles and a half sack in 10 starts. Bertagnole spent the second half of the season dealing with injury.

Suianoa, meanwhile, led the Pokes in tackles with 87 and added a pair of passes defensed in coverage while starting all 12 games for UW. Suiaunoa moved inside to the middle linebacker spot as a senior to replace the graduated Easton Gibbs after playing the previous three seasons as an outside linebacker. Suiaunoa made the transition to defense for the first time after joining Wyoming as a quarterback prospect.

Shay ranked second on the team in tackles in 2024, finishing with 76, 1.5 sacks and one interception in 12 games. Safeties White and Ekeler battled through injuries, which stunted their senior seasons in 2024. White finished with 57 tackles in nine games and Ekeler delivered 46 tackles and one interception.

Hoyland finished his career as the Cowboys' all-time leading scorer with 366 points and record holder for most made field goals (73).

The event is open to the public. On-field workouts are expected to begin by 10 a.m.
