The date for the Eagles’ visit to the White House has been officially set.
According to NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro, the Eagles head to Washington D.C. to meet President Trump at the White House on April 28.
There was uncertainty early about whether the Eagles were going to make the trip. A Feb. 9 report from The U.S. Sun claimed the Eagles had declined an invitation with “a massive no” to visit the White House. However, according to OutKick’s Clay Travis and CNN’s Jake Tapper, the Eagles have not rejected an invitation, and an official invite had not been extended.
Players said they were also confused by the reports. On last Wednesday’s episode of the “Big Play Slay” podcast, cornerback Darius Slay said he and his teammates were surprised by the report, saying they had not discussed it and did not know where the claim originated. He emphasized that regardless of the decision, his focus is on celebrating with his teammates and receiving the championship ring he worked for.
“I don’t know what the situation is, to be honest, if we’re going or not,” Slay said. “I’m really just looking forward to that ring so I can put it in my little case and have all my stuff set up real nice because that’s all I really care about. I care about my ring and celebrating with my guys.”
