The Philadelphia Eagles will be visiting Washington D.C. to celebrate their Super Bowl win.
The Super Bowl LIX champions officially accepted their visit to the White House.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the news on Tuesday.
“I know there was a lot of fake news about an invitation that wasn’t sent or was sent, we want to correct the record: we sent an invitation, they enthusiastically accepted,” she said, via ESPN’s Tim McManus.
McManus also confirmed the Eagles accepted the invite with a team spokesperson.
There were unconfirmed reports shortly after the win that Philadelphia declined the invitation.
The Eagles, who defeated the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9, did not go the White House in 2018 after their Super Bowl win after President Donald Trump canceled the visit, noting the team disagreed "with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."
Some players from the 2018 team protested during the national anthem.
The Eagles will head to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on April 28.
