Kepa 'will bounce back' after penalty in 'frustrating' Spurs draw: Christie

The Spaniard rushed out and fouled Son Heung-Min, the South Korean converting from the spot with six minutes to play, after Bournemouth had led 2-0 in the capital.

Speaking after the game to Premier League Productions, Christie said Kepa has been ‘amazing’ for the team and will come back from the disappointment.

“I think he's a bit gutted himself in terms of the penalty but it's split-second decisions,” he said.

“I thought Son was amazing when he came on at halftime and changed the game for them.

“So he'll bounce back and he’s helped us in plenty of games this season and I'm sure he will between now and the end.”

“Dominated the chances and limited Spurs to very few.

“Obviously it’s a tough place to come here, with some of their big players back from injury, they're looking stronger and stronger every week.

“So maybe on reflection you're happy with a point. The way the game went, we think we should have all three.”

Christie said the squad were frustrated at their game management, especially after going into a two goal lead with less than half an hour to play.

“I know their first goal to get back into it is a bit of a fluke goal, I think he tries to cross it and ends up putting in the goal, so frustrating in that sense,” the 30-year-old said.

_(Image: Bradley Collyer/PA Wire)_ “But it's always going to turn into that, especially at this stadium, the way they like to play it turns into a bit of a basketball match at times and for the most part I thought we dealt with that really well and came out on top, so positives to take.

“The frustrating thing is we don't come away with all three points. But listen, we move on to next week against Brentford.

“We win and it's a good four points from six.”

On if there is confidence the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) can end the campaign on a high, Christie said the squad is feeling positive.

“It's three defeats and a draw and it's frustrating because we set our standards so high,” Christie said on the recent run.

“We've got to keep working hard. Like I said it's a massive game against Brentford next week.

“Nice to be back at home but obviously against a very tough side. So, we're just going to keep pushing, try and get another run of results together and try and push ourselves back up the league and hopefully into the European spots.”
