How should Chelsea line up against FC Copenhagen to finish the job?

Chelsea came away with a just a narrow 2-1 victory from last week’s UEFA Conference League Round of 16 first leg in Copenhagen, which means that we’ve got some work to do in this week’s second leg. It shouldn’t be too arduous of a task, but it’s still a job that needs doing.

Enzo Maresca rotated a surprising amount for that first leg, including giving starts to teenagers Shim Mheuka and Tyrique George, and even to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and with the Arsenal match looming on Sunday, it’s not inconceivable that he might do something similar in the second leg as well.

But we do have to ensure that we do progress.

Benoît Badiashile made his return from injury in that first leg; Wesley Fofana has since done the same, over the weekend. Reece James did miss that game through illness, while Cole Palmer tried to play through one with not great results. Their status is unclear at the moment — as is Malo Gusto’s, who missed the last game with a knock. Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson, and Marc Guiu remain out.
