After his devastating season-ending injury news last week, Lewis Hall has released a fresh update on his current situation.
Hall, who was enjoying a fine season before the injury, posted to his Instagram thanking fans for their support and revealing how he’s doing after undergoing surgery this week.
No official timeframe has been provided by the club, although he does sound hopeful ahead of returning for the 2025/26 season, despite being gutted to miss the Carabao Cup final and our final 10 games of the league campaign.
An integral part of the squad who has massively aided our chances in the pursuit of both European football and the Carabao Cup, Hall’s injury perhaps could not come at a worse time for the youngster.
Posting on Instagram, Hall summed up his disappointment but optimism over his current situation.
“Still absolutely devastated to not be out there with the lads at such a crucial part of the season,” he said after going under the knife this week.
“Surgery was a success and now time to rest, recovery and support the boys. Thank you for all the messages over the past week, can’t wait to be back out there ready for the next season.”
The final line is encouraging to read, with surgery a success and Hall hinting that he’ll be fit for the start of the 2025/26 season in August.

Clearly a favourite amongst both the squad and club hierarchy, Hall’s injury and surgery has provoked an outpouring of support from both fans and players alike.
Commenting on Hall’s post, Martin Dubravka backed Hall to recover strongly: “You will come back even stronger buddy.”
Compatriot Jacob Murphy similarly commented “Back better than ever Lewy H”, with the club themselves posting “You’ll be back stronger, Lewis.”
Outside of his fellow Magpies, Spurs’ Archie Gray, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Borussia Dortmund’s Carney Chukwuemeka were both amongst the well-wishers, showing just how popular and well-regarded Hall is proving to be amongst his peers.
Speedy recovery, Lewis! Let’s hope he’s back soon and picks up from where he left off next season.
