It’s a very exciting time to be of a Nottingham Forest persuasion with the team currently embroiled in a fight for Champions League football.
After 28 matches, Forest sit third in the Premier League table and have occupied that spot since a 2-0 win over Everton way back at the end of December.
At this stage of last season, Forest looked destined for the drop. Four points were deducted from the Reds and the EFL came into the rear view mirror for the club.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo stayed calm when those around him didn’t and he’s now thriving after having a full pre-season with his players.
The City Ground is set to host England in the summer and there could also be some light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the redevelopment green light too.

Nottingham Forest stadium latest as City Ground set for revamp
Thankfully, some news is now starting to emerge regarding the City Ground and hopefully we’re getting closer to a spade finally going in the floor.
The Athletic now claims that there’s a possibility that work could actually start at some point next season on The Peter Taylor Stand.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Formerly known as the Main Stand, it’s the one side of the ground that’s in need of the most work and plans are in place to replace it with a 10,000-capacity stand with Champions League quality facilities.
Yesterday, season card prices were announced with a 10% increase – something that hasn’t gone down too badly – and the club are now making plans to revamp the City Ground too.
As part of the announcement over season cards, the club said: “It remains the club’s ambition to redevelop the Peter Taylor Stand and there is a material prospect that we could start that work during the 2025/26 season.
“If this is the case, we will consult with season card holders who have seats in the Peter Taylor Stand regarding their relocation, if and when appropriate.”
Forest plans for the Peter Taylor Stand
It’s been a long time in coming but there does feel like progress is now just around the corner.
Right now, it feels like Forest are constantly awaiting news of a new date for the work but this does feel very positive at the very least.
Right now, the capacity on Trentside is at 30,400 following the decision made by Evangelos Marinakis to place shipping containers in one of the corners – catering for more people to come and view Premier League football.
Forest first made plans to redevelop the City Ground in 2019. Six years later, only very minor tweaks have been made with the 60-year stand still in place in its current state.
Brand new hospitality and media suites will feature in the new stand – expected to still be named after Peter Taylor – and it’s exactly what Forest need.
Champions League football could be on the horizon for Forest next season and hopefully, the Reds will soon have a home venue that matches that particular competition.
