Ahead of this Saturday's League Cup final against Chelsea, we rewind to 2019 and a weekend to remember...

In February 2019, City clinched a third Continental Cup success in five years with a dramatic penalty shoot-out triumph over Arsenal at Bramall Lane last Saturday.

After 120 minutes of football the two sides could not be separated and so the lottery of the shoot-out was required.

Goalkeeper Karen Bardsley emerged as the Blues’ hero, saving two of the Gunners’ spot-kicks.

And with the tension palpable, Janine Beckie then demonstrated nerves of steel to convert the winning penalty to secure a 4-2 win on spot-kicks and so seal Cup glory for Nick Cushing’s side.
