Sky Reporter Reveals Man City Have Added World Cup Finalist To "List" Of Targets

Manchester City have added Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to their “list” of summer transfer targets, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The journalist claims that the Cityzens have a good relationship with the player’s agent, who also represents Omar Marmoush.

Camavinga, who was part of France’s squad that reached the World Cup final in 2022, is not thought to have made a decision on his future yet.

However, it looks as if the Premier League champions are seriously considering make a move for the 22-year-old if he is made available for transfer over the coming weeks and months.

Real are under no pressure to sell Camavinga

The Frenchman has a contract that expires in 2029, so his club don’t need to offload the player in the near future.

It should be pointed out, though, that injuries have been an issue for Camavinga this season. He has been sidelined with knee, muscular and hamstring issues, which has meant that he has only started 7 league games.

For that reason, Real may be tempted to cash in, although Camavinga himself may have to be persuaded. He has been a regular starter in three of the past four seasons so he may believe that he can recover his position in the first eleven soon.

City have been watching the midfielder for several years

It was reported at the beginning of 2020 that the Cityzens had made an enquiry for Camavinga. He was still at Rennes at the time, with Premier League rivals such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham having also looked into buying him.

The midfielder was being eyed as a potential long-term successor for Fernandinho but he ultimately ended up moving to Madrid in the summer of 2021.
