The Los Angeles Rams have been active ahead of the NFL's free agency period, agreeing to a restructured contract with quarterback Matthew Stafford as well as agreeing to a deal for wide receiver Davante Adams.
Adams heads to Los Angeles after one season with the New York Jets. The three-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler also spent three years with the Las Vegas Raiders and eight years with the Green Bay Packers.
Upon his arrival, the Rams made an interesting announcement. Wide receiver Puka Nacua is changing his jersey from No. 17 to No. 12.
While the Rams haven't announced that Adams, who has worn No. 17 his entire career, will don the number, fans have made the assumption it'll now be worn by the veteran pass catcher.
Nacua is now back to his college number, which he wore with the BYU Cougars.
"I know when I put on that number 12, it's a piece of armor that's representing my family that is always protecting me," Nacua said.
Some numbers choose you.

Nacua also took to social media, sharing his thoughts on the jersey number change.
"Carrying on the Nacua legacy!" Nacua said. "The 12not only represents me on the football field, but all of my brothers and the sacrifices that my family have made before me to be able to wear this jersey at this moment. I know when I put on that 12, it's a piece of armor that's representing my family and always protecting me.For all the 17s out there, I appreciate your support and have things in the works to show you all love!"
While Adams has been widely regarded as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL over the past decade, Nacua has been an emerging superstar since entering the league.
Last season, Nacua posted three touchdowns and 990 yards on 79 receptions. While had an injury-plagued sophomore year, Nacua recorded six touchdowns and 1,486 yards on 105 receptions during his rookie season.
