Singer Vusi Nova is set to host his inaugural one-man show, a black-tie event that promises to showcase the best of local music and culture.
The highly anticipated show at Emperors Palace Centre Court on May 1 will feature Kelly Khumalo, Nathi Mankayi, Zuko SA, Kwanda, 047, BusiGold, Ssips and Stu.
“This is more than concert. I want to make this an experience unlike any other,” he told TshisaLIVE.
“I want every person in the audience to feel special, to feel proud of our heritage, and to revel in an evening of sophistication and joy. I want people to dress up. This is about honouring our music, our culture and the incredible talent our country has to offer.”
Vusi, who has been in the industry since 2009, has come a long way since his breakthrough in 2013 with the song _I'd Rather Go Blind_ through the Motherland record label.
Last year Vusi launched his own record label, Nova Sounds.
For his upcoming event he has collaborated with Solid Sound record label.
"I want to do my own thing because I know what it takes. I learned, having been with a record label that had been around for more than 30 years. They were there to hold my hand through a lot.
"Now it's me from start to finish. I got to a point where I could do this on my own, which is growth. I am hosting an event that is a first for the Afro soul culture. You never find such an event that is black tie with a show where you have to dress up in evening gowns and tuxedos."
