“Refused” | ExWHUEmployee | Summerville injury update

**West Ham have provided a concerning update surrounding the fitness of Crysencio Summerville, it’s been exclusively reported by ExWHUEmployee.**

The former Leeds winger has been absent for a number of weeks having injured his hamstring in Graham Potters first game in charge – a loss to Aston Villa in the FA Cup on 10th January.

Summerville had make progress towards a return from injury, however he unfortunately suffered another injury in training which had set him back, with a view he’d be available to Potter this upcoming weekend when we face Everton and former boss David Moyes.

However, reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, our insider Ex has received a concerning update from a senior source within the club, when they were asked on an update surrounding Summerville’s availability.

“I have received a message from the club which paints a rather confusing picture surrounding Summerville and when he is likely to return,” stated Ex.

“The source has responded and said the following: ‘SADLY, he’s refused an operation so we haven’t an idea.'”

Ex however did stress this can happen with players opting to recover without the need of surgery, with Kurt Zouma previously a player who would tend to avoid surgery if possible.

At this stage it is unknown when Summerville will be available for selection. The update certainly doesn’t give confidence that Summerville is set to be involved against the Toffees on Saturday – however Ex will provide further updates in due course.
