Liverpool head coach Arne Slot believes Arsenal can win the Champions League this season.
Questioned about the Gunners’ chances after the Reds were knocked out of the tournament by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, Slot replied:

“Yeah, they can [win it], they can, but unfortunately for them they’re not the only team that can win it. And it’s always about two games, so luck and bad luck can play a part as well.”
When asked if he believes PSG are the favourites for the competition after they won on penalties at Anfield, Slot said that there were at least five other clubs (including Mikel Arteta’s side) who are in the mix:
“I haven’t played all of them. I like Barcelona at the moment a lot as well, Arsenal has a very good team, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich is impressive. So it’s going to be close like it was tonight.”

After beating PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the Netherlands, the second leg at the Emirates on Wednesday is merely a formality.
Barring a catastrophic result, Arteta’s men will be in the last 8 of the Champions League, where they will take on either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
Who are the favourites to win the competition at the bookmakers?
Unsurprisingly, following Tuesday night’s result at Anfield, PSG have been installed as the favourites by the bookies, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich among the other frontrunners.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are 5th with most betting firms, with odds of around 6/1. Injuries up front means it would be some feat if they were to make it all the way to the final but, as Slot says, anything can happen in a two-legged cup tie.
