Electrolyzer engineering through in situ catalyst regeneration

Renewable energy intermittency and power fluctuations can impact water electrolyzer performance. Now, a study reports a self-healing cathode with an in situ-formed passivation layer that protects metal active sites from oxidation during shutdown conditions.
