Manchester United are keen to bolster their squad this summer in a bid to have a significantly better season next year.
Their main strategy for doing so is signing young stars with impressive potential that can lead the club to success for years to come.
This summer saw the likes of then 18-year-old Leny Yoro who’s deemed a “generational talent” join the club from LOSC Lille, with oldest summer signing being Noussair Mazraoui at 26-years-old at the time.
In the winter United continued with the strategy, signing 20-year-old Patrick Dorgu and 18-year-old Ayden Heaven who have already made their debuts.
Heading into the summer, United are continuing to scout young targets such as Chris Rigg and Juan Gimenez.
Now, United are facing a battle as Sunderland hopes to hold onto one of The Red Devils’ targets, Jobe Bellingham.

FourFourTwo has reported that Sunderland are keen to retain their young star, however might have a battle on their hands with several Premier League sides wanting to sign the midfielder.
Manchester United are joined by Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Arsenal in showing interest in the younger Bellingham brother.
However, Jobe Bellingham is keen to forge his own path rather than just following in his brother’s footsteps, which could give hope to United in being able to sign the star.
As a result, Sunderland, who are fourth place in the Championship, need to secure a place in next season’s Premier League if they hope to keep their rising star.
This is a sentiment agreed by former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips in a interview with Betway.
The former striker explained: “Yes, simple as that. Bellingham is making a name for himself, and he’s doing it his way. He doesn’t want to be associated with his brother – that’s why he’s got ‘Jobe’ on the back of his shirt.”
He continued: “I’ve seen him play loads of times and he’s an excellent player. Unfortunately, they’ll need to go up in order to keep him.
“But Sunderland’s recruitment department have shown they’re very good at what they do so if he does go, I’m sure they’ll replace him with hopefully someone just as good.”
