ARSENAL are looking ahead to what is expected to be a MASSIVE summer transfer window for the club - with a striker believed to be the top priority.

First on the agenda looks to be the appointment of a new sporting director after the club reportedly reached an agreement with former Atletico Madrid chief Andrea Berta.

Elsewhere, William Saliba has given an update on his contract situation with the centre-back entering the final two years of his deal at the end of the season.

A new striker is top of the transfer shortlist, with the Gunners linked with numerous names.

RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko is said to be the top target but Arsenal are also linked with Newcastle star Alexander Isak, who has a whopping £105million price-tag, and Porto hitman Samu Aghehowa.

'Miracle' needed for PSV

PSV manager Peter Bosz has admitted it would take a miracle for his team to turn their Champions League tie around on Arsenal.

The Dutch side were gunned down last week 7-1 as Mikel Arteta's side put one foot firmly in the next stages of the competition.

The PSV boss said: "Of course, it would be a huge miracle. But miracles happen sometimes, right?

"I think everyone who stood on the pitch last week has that voice in their heads saying: this is not going to happen again.

"If we lose 7-1 again, we will get all sorts of things thrown at us. We don't want that

"I don't find it difficult to motivate myself. We want to finish our Champions League campaign in the best possible way."

Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Martinelli will be fit to face PSV in the Champions League tonight.

He said: "Everybody finished the game against Man United with no issues.

Isak coup could set record

Alexander Isak could shatter the record for a move between two Prem clubs.

The record was set when Chelsea paid Brighton £115m for Moises Caicedo in 2023.

That means the Swede would be the second costliest player ever – below Paris Saint-Germain‘s £198m capture of Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 and above the £163m PSG paid Monaco for Kylian Mbappe in 2018.

Isak, 25, has emerged as one of the most-coveted players on the planet since his club-record £63m arrival from Real Sociedad in 2022.

He became the first Toon player since legend Alan Shearer two decades ago to hit 20 Premier League goals last term.

Meanwhile, Wembley opponents Liverpool and Chelsea would also both love to sign him.

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has blasted boss Mikel Arteta.

The ex-Spurs and Chelsea star reckons the Gunners boss is "not world class" and it's "unacceptable" the keeps failing to sign a top-rate striker.

The Frenchman told Prime Casino: "Arteta doesn’t have a winning mentality.

"It’s unacceptable for Arsenal to be making the same mistakes year-after-year with the same manager.

Arsenal and Manchester United might be revving up for a tussle over Viktor Gyokeres.

Both clubs have been linked with the Sporting Lisbon striker.

And Sport Witness claim the ex-Coventry ace is keen on returning to English football.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Mikel Arteta has virtually admitted he has lost faith in Raheem Sterling.

Arteta failed to bring on the loanee striker at Manchester United on Sunday - even though the 1-1 draw left hte Gunners 15 points off leaders Liverpool.

Wright told the the Kelly and Wrighty Show: "It was a shame that you didn’t see someone like Raheem Sterling come off the bench.

"They put on Kieran Tierney instead and that says a lot about what he thinks of that situation."

The ex-England striker said of Arsenal's performance: "It really felt like a resignation...

During the aftermath, fans spotted an X-rated sign held up by a supporter in the Stretford End as players walked off.
