Player backed for Premier League after Tottenham send scout to watch him against Aston Villa

Club Brugge star Ardon Jashari is ready made for the Premier League, with Tottenham one of several sides already scouting him.

That’s according to Steven Defour whose comments to Het Laatste Nieuws have been [relayed by Voetbal Primeur.](https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuws/1263175/defour-vol-lof-over-jashari-hij-is-de-beste-speler-in-onze-competitie.html)

The website reports that Jashari is the name on everyone’s lips at Brugge at this moment in time as he continues to impress and earn admirers.

Pep Guardiola already praised him earlier this season after Manchester City took on Brugge earlier this season and many, including Defour, believe is the best player in the Jupiler Pro League.

The Premier League has not missed him, and Tottenham scouts were one of several to travel to the Jan Breydel Stadium last week to watch him take on Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Jashari can again show himself on the biggest stage this evening when they take on Unai Emery’s side in the second leg of that clash.

The Swiss midfielder already impressed them and Defour, who played in the Premier League himself, doesn’t believe that Tottenham or anyone else would be making a mistake if they were to move for him.

_“He is the best player in our league and perhaps even one of the best of the last ten years,”_ he said.

_“His combination of energy, aggression and calmness on the ball is unique. He reads the game excellently and is technically strong enough to compete at the highest level._

_“The time when it was all about running and pounding is long gone. His dynamism and way of playing forward would not be out of place at a team from the English sub-top.”_
