Drama including ‘middle finger attack’ behind potential €50m move to Newcastle United

Victor Boniface’s potential move to Newcastle United is being plotted as the German side grow tired of drama around the striker behind the scenes.

That’s [according to Sport BILD](https://sportbild.bild.de/), who cover the striker today and how a series of incidents are making him the prime transfer candidate this summer.

They explain that ‘critical discussions’ have become more frequent with Boniface, who has become something of a problem child.

He’s been involved in a crash in the early hours on a highway towards Frankfurt, filmed himself driving at 140km/h and published it on social media and most recently got involved in a shoving match with teammate Emi Buendia.

That’s all came after he engaged in a ‘middle finger attack’ on the Stuttgart bench after the Supercup final.

The striker is very much a volcano waiting to explode and that’s made him the first candidate for sale this summer as far as Leverkusen are concerned.

They were ready to sell him to Saudi Arabia in January but ended up being stumped as Jhon Duran went from Aston Villa instead. Now the interest is coming from Newcastle.

Reports earlier this year already indicated that Newcastle had been in touch about the striker and even spoken to his entourage. Leverkusen are very much open to doing a deal.

They would want €50m for the striker, eyeing up a major profit on him and the continuation of their plan to secure one major sale every summer. The deal would also let them get rid of a problem player, who is threatening to do something drastic every week.

Whether Newcastle would pay such a sum isn’t mentioned but there’s a deal to be done for Boniface, if they’re willing to take on his antics off the pitch too.
