On March 10, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with outgoing Ambassador of Peru to China Marco Balarezo. Miao Deyu thanked Marco Balarezo for his contributions to the development of China-Peru relations during his tenure, and said that China attaches great importance to China-Peru relations and is willing to work with Peru to deliver on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and continuously elevate the China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership to new levels.
Marco Balarezo highly praised the development achievements of Chinese modernization, and said that relations with China are one of Peru's most important bilateral relations. As Ambassador to China, he feels very proud and will continue to dedicate himself to deepening the friendship between Peru and China after returning to his country, and to make new contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
