William Saliba has opened up on Arsenal's faltering title bid with Liverpool now 15 points clear of the Gunners

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has admitted that the Gunners "don't deserve" to be top of the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool. Mikel Arteta's side sit second behind the league-leading Reds who they trail by 15 points.

Arne Slot's dominant Liverpool team have lost just one league match all season, a 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in September. The Reds' strong performances under their Dutch manager could lead to a league and Carabao Cup double this season.

And Saliba has opened up on how he sees the Gunners' gap to Liverpool in the top-flight table, crediting the Reds for their domestic dominance.

"If they [Liverpool] are first it is because they did something that we didn't do. Of course there is a big gap," he said. at the Gunners' pre-match press conference on Tuesday before facing PSV Eindhoven.

"We have to keep going. They are so good as well. I think this season, we don't deserve to be at the top. We have to keep going. We are second and there is a Champions League as well, we will push."

Arsenal and Liverpool were on course to meet each other in the Champions League semi-finals after they were placed in the same side of the knockout draw, but whilst Arsenal are set to cruise into the quarter-finals, having trounced PSV 7-1 in the first leg, the Reds have been eliminated after they crashed out to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
