The Red Devils have announced their plans for a new stadium to replace Old Trafford, but are these spooky goings-on perhaps the real reason for the decision to knock the famous old ground down?

There is more than enough going on at Manchester United at the moment with a new stadium announced, Ruben Amorim's side languishing in the bottom half of the table and INEOS wielding the cost-saving axe seemingly at will.
But United do top one table at least, even if it's not the one Red Devils fans want. And they might now have more problems off the pitch than after another Bruno Fernandes tantrum on it.
That's because they are officially the most haunted Premier League club with 62 ghost sightings and 26 UFO encounters, topping the Premier League Haunted Index by a mile.
Yes, that's right, United, who have endured a torrid 12 years since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson as Old Trafford supremo, earned a haunted Score of 80.7 ahead of Manchester City (74.3), Everton (71.1) and Liverpool (71.1).
Research by Spin Genie gave United their massive haunted score, followed by cross-Manchester rivals City, with an identical number of ghost sightings.
Amazingly, United have a better record playing at home this season than on their travels, so perhaps the spooky sightings are also helping Amorim's side find the back of the net on a more regular basis when they are at Old Trafford.
Might it be time to reserve a seat on the coach for a spirit or two to look for those so-called marginal gains INEOS are focused on? Surely at this stage it couldn't hurt.

Elsewhere, Everton and Liverpool share joint-third place with a Haunted Score of 71.1, fueled by 97 ghost sightings, meanwhile, Aston Villa complete the top five with a Haunted Score of 45.4.
At the other end of the spectrum, London clubs appear to be the least haunted. West Ham (1.5), Brentford (1.7), and Fulham (2.2) rank among the least supernatural, with minimal ghostly activity or UFO encounters.
