‘Devastating simplicity’: Brazilian star ‘dominates’ Juventus amid rumours Man Utd will pay £50m to sign him

Manchester United need to bolster Ruben Amorim’s midfield options this summer and one Brazilian is catching the eye.

This summer promises to be a big one for Manchester United.

Ineos need to back Ruben Amorim with new signings and additions are required all over the pitch.

United have problems ahead of the transfer window though with finances and a potential lack of European football likely to cause problems in the market.

United must find a way to strengthen across the pitch though and finding midfielder is paramount.

Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 approach means that United need midfielders who can be strong defensively but also provide a thrust going forward.

Manchester United target Ederson praised after dominating Juventus

One name which just won’t go away – and fits the United bill perfectly – is Atalanta star Ederson.

Claims from November suggested that United had contacted Ederson’s agent ahead of a potential bid.

Ederson is loved by some inside United but there was no consensus inside Old Trafford for a January move.

Fresh reports from Italy suggest that United are ready to pay £50million for Ederson with the Brazilian still seemingly wanted by United.

United were surely watching Ederson on Sunday as Atalanta demolished Juventus 4-0 in Serie A.

Ederson played a starring role and earned huge praise from the Italian media for his display.

“How much work for the midfielder, in both phases. He carries the ball with devastating simplicity, the brain and wood of a midfield that works for four. He comes out exhausted,” said Tuttomercatoweb, marvelling at just how much running he did whilst offering both brains and brawn in the engine room.

“Usual all-round performance. Dominates, recovers, restarts, at double the speed of Juventus midfielders,” said Eurosport.

“Another performance of enormous character, combined with undoubtedly very high quality. He writes his story in capital letters within this match with the simplicity of his plays. The right ones,” added Calciomercato.

Ederson dazzled in the Europa League final last season and he continues to shine, no doubt grabbing United’s attention in the process.

Don’t rule out a double Serie A raid

Ederson is one Brazilian midfielder on the radar from the Serie A market but United have another target in mind too.

Reports in Italy suggest that United failed to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus before the January transfer deadline.

Perhaps it’s a case of one or the other, but there could be a world where United actually target both players.

Both Ederson and Luiz are strong defensively and can sit deep, but have enough quality to carry the ball and impact the game further forward.

The pair are of a good age with Ederson 25 and Luiz 26, whilst the latter has Premier League experience under his belt with Aston Villa.

That all-Brazilian combination in midfield could be ideal with United needing to add legs and quality in the engine room and signing both Serie A midfielders should be something in mind for Amorim and co this summer.
