Arsenal vs Manchester United: Arsenal’s title hopes fading

A Bruno Fernandes super free kick in the Arsenal vs Manchester United game leaves the Gunners title hopes dead and buried.

Arsenal vs Manchester United: A nail-biting encounter

The Red Devils midfielder Declan Rice scored a key equalizer in the second half at the Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund also got a tempting late winner chance to earn the three points but a brilliant tackle from Rice denied the opportunity.

A late winner could have been worse for the Gunners in the race to win the Premier League title. Although, they still hope to be in the title race while trailing behind the leaders Liverpool by 15 points. The north London side also have a game in hand. They will be playing the Reds at Anfield later in the league on May 10. Rice’s 74th minute goal cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ wonderful strike from a free kick in the first-half. A loss away from home at the Old Trafford would have ended their hopes for the Premier League crown.

Ruben Amorim’s side also missed a great chance in the stoppage time. Goalkeeper David Raya made a great save from a Fernandes shot in the last minutes of the fixture. The point from the draw will not have much impact on United’s poor campaign. They are now sitting at 14th place. Surprisingly, they are eight points behind 10th placed Fulham.

Arteta’s Premier League hopes fading away

It will be very difficult to catch the league leaders, but the race is still on. Mikel Arteta’s side have played a game less. The 1-1 game at Old Trafford was their 10th draw of the season. A fifteen-point gap to Liverpool is surely way bigger than it looks.

Arsenal will have to make an incredible winning run to get hold off the Reds. Although that is too much to ask for from them considering their injury issues. Gabriel Martinelli is back and had few minutes against Man Utd. Bukayo Saka will also be looking to return this month. Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz will be missing the rest of the season.
