Galaxy S25 Edge may get free access to Google’s best AI model for a limited time

Gemini Advanced provides users with access to Google's best AI models, with advanced features like Deep Research and a significantly larger token context window. It's not something a lot of casual users will pay for, but Google has been trying to entice people by giving them an extended free trial with new smartphones.

All Galaxy S25 owners got six months of free Gemini Advanced, and now it seems that a similar incentive may also be extended to those who buy the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung's new ultra-thin phone that's expected to be launched next month.

Galaxy S25 Edge to get a Gemini Advanced trial

A teardown of the latest Google app beta for Android has revealed that the Galaxy S25 Edge is eligible for the free Gemini Advanced promo. What the teardown doesn't reveal is how long the free access might be offered for to those who buy the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Google offers it for a full year to customers who buy its Pixel 9 smartphones. Samsung's Galaxy S25, S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra get it free for six months. Given that the Galaxy S25 Edge is listed separately from the rest of the models on the list, it begs the question, will the free trial be different for the upcoming device?

Be that as it may, at least this goes to show that Galaxy S25 Edge owners will get free access to Gemini Advanced for a limited time, however limited that may be. Google would certainly be hoping that it entices them enough to pony up for a Gemini Advanced subscription once the trial runs out.

On the contrary, most Galaxy S25 Edge customers would most likely trade the trial for something tangible like new Galaxy Buds without a second thought.
