FAI celebrates 50th anniversary with Spring Days

The Italian Environmental Fund (FAI) will celebrate its 50th anniversary with events planned for the 33th edition of the Spring Days at unique locations including Rome's Palazzo Farnese, seat of the French Embassy, and Villa Rosebery in Naples, which is surrounded by a large park with an English-style garden that has belonged to the Italian presidency since 1957.

The association, which works to restore and preserve Italy's artistic and environmental treasures, will offer on March 22-23 itineraries in 750 locations across 450 cities that will be exceptionally open thanks to 16,000 volunteer tour guides.

The sites will include the contemporary Libeskind Tower in Milan, the Svevo Castle in the Puglia city of Brindisi and Turin's Royal Palace.

Other itineraries that are part of this year's Spring Days will explore the Abruzzo village of Loreto Aprutino, with its beautiful Church of Santa Maria in Piano, and Sicily's Gibellina, near Trapani, the Italian Capital of Contemporary Art in 2026.

Naturalistic tours will showcase, among others, the stunning landscapes of Umbria's Gola del Bottaccione and the Calanchi di Alianello in Aliano, near Matera.
