Study links vaping to breathing issues in young people

Greg Fell, ADPH President, responds to the results of a study linking breathing issues in young people with vaping.

“The increase in young people who have never smoked, but have taken up vaping is concerning, and knowing the health risks is very important.

”Such studies help us to understand the health risks associated with vaping and can help in learning the best ways to look at prevention, including stronger enforcement and regulations as proposed in the Tobacco and Vapes Bill. We need to reduce the number of young people accessing vape products and banning the sale of vaping and nicotine products to children and young people, will help reduce uptake, and potential harm.

“We must do all we can to protect the health and wellbeing of future generations, laying the foundations for a healthier and more productive UK.”
