Man Utd face Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie on Thursday night.

Ruben Amorim has ruled Leny Yoro, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire out of Manchester United’s huge Europa League second leg against Real Sociedad on Thursday night. United are back in action when they play the last 16 tie and know they must win on the night to have any chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

United are almost certain to record their lowest-ever Premier League finish this season, while they have already been knocked out of the FA Cup and the League Cup. However, they still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League and know they will return to the top continental competition if they win the Europa League this season.

It is easier said than done, though. United have struggled to string positive results together throughout the season and must beat their La Liga opponents while contending with a fresh injury crisis on Thursday night.

Manchester United were handed a double injury boost when both Manuel Ugarte and Mason Mount returned to first-team training on Wednesday morning, though only one of them is expected to be named in the squad to face Real Sociedad tomorrow night.

Ugarte is most likely to be named on the bench after he missed the previous two matches with a ‘minor issue,’ while Mount has not featured since the Manchester derby victory over Man City in December.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ruben Amorim issued an update on his squad: “Mason Mount is too soon. Leny’s out. Harry Maguire can not play this one but I hope to have him for Sunday (vs Leicester). Manu (Ugarte) is on the squad. I think there is no one returning.” Asked if Yoro had a long-term issue after his withdrawal against Arsenal, the head coach added: “No, no. It is not long-term, but he can not play this game and the other game.”
