Insistence player’s appearance at Manchester City not what it seems – Transfer tour shows no signs of ending

Rosenborg youngster Sverre Nypan has insisted there was nothing to him being spotted at Manchester City earlier this year.

[TV2 cover the situation](https://www.tv2.no/sport/fotball/eliteserien/avslorer-unike-detaljer-slik-var-nypans-moter-med-gigantklubbene/17511795/) around the 18-year-old today and comments from him and his father as European interest in him refuses to abate.

They explain that the youngster is being hunted by several football giants and he and his team are now ‘lifting the veil’ on the games behind the scenes. It seems they want everyone to know what they’re doing as they go on something of a European tour.

January was a big month on that front as Nypan was spotted in the stands as Manchester City took on Chelsea.

That made him the centre of attention on the world stage for a few seconds and it was no coincidence. That’s because the media have been linking Nypan to Manchester City for a while, as well as the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa. They’re believed to be ‘fighting’ for him.

Nypan was more than aware of all those reports and the interest in him, admitting it was hard to keep cool.

“In this transfer window, people talked a lot about me leaving Rosenborg. That’s when you start to think that way yourself. When there are such big clubs involved, it’s a bit difficult to keep a cool head,” he said.

“They talk to me first. And show interest, in a way. And then they talk themselves up and tell me how I should fit into their system. It’s a recurring thing from most clubs.”

He’s just a part of the process, with his father Arne right in the mix and dealing with the clubs himself.

That’s been an interesting process as he admits the suitors have been setting up meetings and overwhelming them with the information they’ve already compiled on his son.

“The information the clubs have about Sverre is quite overwhelming,” he revealed.

“It is at such a level that one club shows clips of Sverre in specific situations when he both has the ball and does not have the ball. Then they transfer it directly to their own team to show how he fits into the team’s game model.”

He’s more than aware of the interest in his son but wants to insist he is not making a decision soon, even after being spotted at Manchester City.

“Sverre is young, and this is a huge decision,” he concluded.

“Actually, getting out there and meeting people properly when you have the opportunity is just an opportunity you have to take. Being out there and feeling your gut feeling and how you are wanted are two criteria we set high. So, this is as far from a PR trip as you can get.”
