**West Ham** rejecting a £20m offer for Brazilian starlet Luis Guilherme looks more ridiculous by the day.
As pointed out by Martin yesterday, [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/category/news/) were informed by a top source at the club that Guilherme was going to feature more regularly following an impressive cameo against Chelsea.
As a result, Hammers manager Graham Potter decided to keep the 19-year-old in his squad and reject a £20m+ money-back offer from Flamengo in February (the window was open in Brazil until Feb 28th).
At the time, most West Ham fans were delighted to hear that the young wonderkid of Brazilian football was about to get his chance. After all, much fuss was made about West Ham’s first [transfer](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-transfer-news/) of a busy summer, and the team is crying out for an injection of pace.
Unfortunately, six weeks later, Guilherme is still waiting for his chance at first-team football. It seems like a crazy decision to reject decent money for a player who is clearly not going to feature, particularly at a time when the club is described as ‘broke’.
Guilherme has been labelled as ‘faster than Kylian Mbappé’, but he seemingly can’t even get a few minutes off the bench. No offence to Danny Ings, but this West Ham team is ponderously slow, and the sight of Ings running through treacle when an injection of pace is required is just madness.
Put simply, the Hammers must either sell the youngster or play him because I suspect there won’t be too many more money-back offers on the table
