Newcastle United must decide what type of right winger they want to sign this summer.
It is essential that someone arrives ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Jacob Murphy currently the only senior right winger at Newcastle United following Miguel Almiron’s departure.
Newcastle want three outfield signings this summer. One of them will, unsurprisingly, be a winger.
But the Magpies’ top target remains to be seen. Tottenham are the favourites for Tyler Dibling, while a player like Bryan Mbeumo will be extremely expensive.
Paul Mitchell could go down a different route and bring in a star of the future from further afield, with Toon scouts working hard on possible targets.

Newcastle United scout Norwegian wonderkid
It was reported in September 2024 that Newcastle were interested in Sindre Walle Egeli, an 18-year-old Norwegian winger who plays for Danish side Nordsjælland.
Fast forward to March 2025 and Newcastle United officials are once again casting their eye at the teenage attacker.
That is according to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, who has told Geordie Boot Boys that Newcastle scouted Egeli on Friday.

“The Danish league has started again, so it is no surprise that clubs are looking at their talent again,” he said.
“I understand Newcastle were represented in Denmark, and saw Sindre Walle Egeli score and get an assist.
“He is a player who they already know about and have done work on.”
Newcastle must take transfer risk to sign Sindre Walle Egeli
This is the type of signing that Mitchell must strive for.
He has spoken about the need for Newcastle United to get value in the transfer market. To do that, they need to sign players from untapped markets before they truly become superstars.
That is where Egeli is currently at. While he is already making a splash in Denmark, the youngster with six goals and five assists this season is certainly destined for bigger things.
It was reported last year that Egeli will cost £21million, which is a lot of money for an 18-year-old with limited experience. But you are buying potential – investing in a player who could go on to be worth treble that amount.
After seeing Egeli score and get an assist on Friday night, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United formalise their interest. He certainly feels like a risk worth taking.
