It has been a disappointing season for both the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat.
Phoenix is currently fighting for their playoff lives as they sit 11th in the Western Conference standings with a 30-35 record, which has them two and a half games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final Play-In spot.
For Miami, they currently sit ninth in the Eastern conference standings with a 29-35 record and have struggled since trading Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline.
With both teams struggling, they may both make major roster changes in the offseason and Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz recently proposed a trade between the two teams that would send Kevin Durant to Miami.
In the trade, Swartz has Miami receiving Durant from Phoenix in exchange for Kel'el Ware, Terry Rozier, Duncan Robinson and two first-round picks.
Of course, the Heat were one of the teams that reportedly tried to land Durant from the Suns at the trade deadline and they may reopen trade talks in the offseason.
"Pairing Durant alongside Bam Adebayo and All-Star guard Tyler Herro would make the Heat a threat in the East once again, especially with players like Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kyle Anderson, Nikola Jović, Haywood Highsmith, Kevin Love and others balancing out the roster," Swartz wrote.
This move would be a great one for the Heat as they try to return to championship form in the East, but it would also be a great move for Phoenix.
The Suns would land a much-needed center in Ware who has played extremely well in his rookie season. They would also acquire Rozier and Robinson who would both help them remain competitive with Devin Booker leading the way.
Despite this, the Heat may not be willing to give up Ware in the move as their frontcourt duo of him and Adebayo has worked out well this season, but they have a few other young players that Phoenix may be interested in as part of a possible Durant deal.
