Santos boss Marcelo Teixeira has made it clear he’s eager for Neymar to stay at the club past the end of the season amid talk of a summer return to Barcelona.
The Brazilian is said to be dreaming of a return to the Camp Nou at the end of the campaign, although [Deco has played down such speculation recently](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/3/6/24378658/deco-opens-up-on-possibility-of-neymar-making-shock-return-to-barcelona).
Teixeira says the club are hoping to convince him to stay and believe he is committed to the cause right now.
> “The hardest part is already done, which was having him here. We’ll see the club’s technical response and results; we’re working on sponsorships... he’s already shown he’s not worried about the financial aspect,” he told Marca.

> “The entire technical committee supported him in his matches; everyone supports Santos, and the entire country does. And that will influence the possibility of him staying here in the near future. The national team has called him back.

> “He’s doing very well, very focused on his work. We’re familiar with the Brazilian schedule here; you play on Wednesdays and Sundays. He’s very dedicated to training and matches, growing increasingly physically and with confidence, which is very important.

[Neymar has only signed a short-term deal](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/2/17/24367154/neymar-and-his-dad-discuss-brazilians-future-amid-barcelona-return-rumors) with Santos and has said “anything can happen” with regards his future and where he might play next season.
