The Dallas Cowboys' offense struggled in 2024, ranking 21st in points per game (20.6) and 17th in total yards per game (328.4), meaning they enter the offseason with a chance for serious improvement.
One name they could target is wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who is scheduled to be released by the Los Angeles Rams if not traded, with the Cowboys as a potential landing spot by Garrett Podell and Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports
However, that pairing has become much less likely after NFL Network's Jane Slater revealed that Dallas is "not in the mix right now." for the 31-year-old veteran.
I realize there is a lot of talk about Cooper Kupp and #Cowboys. A source informed tells me "not in the mix right now"

However, the Cowboys could certainly use someone like Cupp, who, in 12 games for the Rams in 2024, accumulated 67 receptions, 710 yards, and six touchdowns on 100 targets.
Those numbers are already better than the Cowboys' second-most efficient wide receiver from last season, Jalen Tolbert, who in 17 games was targeted 79 times, reeling in 49 receptions, 610 yards and seven touchdowns.
If Kupp did hit the open market as well, the Cowboys wouldn't have to take too much of a risk either, as Spotrac predicts he will sign just a two-year contract worth $21.9 million.
Even then, though it would be a very uncharacteristic move from the Cowboys, who have not signed an external free agent to a contract worth over $10 million a year since defensive end Greg Hardy in 2015 (one-year, $11.3 million).
