**WASHINGTON**
The US Congress will investigate attacks against Tesla vehicles and owners, House Speaker Mike Johnson said Wednesday.
The attacks come as tech-billionaire Elon Musk, who owns the electric car company, leads President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he has overseen deep reductions to the federal workforce.
Describing Musk's works as "heroic," Johnson said on X that the "radical left" is behind the attacks against Tesla owners and their vehicles.
"Congress will investigate the sources of these attacks and help the DOJ (Department of Justice) & FBI ensure those responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Johnson added.
Separately, congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and members of a DOGE committee demanded a federal investigation into the "recent wave of organized attacks" targeting Tesla.
They sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI's Director Kash Patel, that said the attacks "seem to involve coordinated acts of vandalism, arson and other acts of violence, seriously threaten public safety."
Trump shopped for a new Tesla on Tuesday in the driveway of the White House to show support for Musk.
