Nikola Jokic, Rudy Gobert Headline Hefty Injury Report Before Timberwolves-Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets will look push their winning streak to two games on Wednesday when the host the red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves.

Denver picked up a massive victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday that helped them retake the second seed in the Western Conference from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite this, they will have a tough matchup on Wednesday against a Timberwolves team that has won five consecutive games.

To make matters worse for the Nuggets, they may also be without multiple of their star players in Wednesday's Western Conference showdown.

Ahead of their game against Minnesota, Denver has Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon listed on their injury report.

The good news for the Nuggets is that Jokic is likely to play as he has been listed as probable despite an elbow and ankle injury. Murray is also listed as probable with an ankle injury but he is also expected to play.

For Gordon, he has been listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game due to a calf injury. Gordon suffered the injury on Sunday against the Thunder and was sidelined for Monday's victory over Oklahoma City.

With Gordon expected to miss his second consecutive game due to injury, expect Russell Westbrook to continue to fill in for him in the starting lineup.

On the other side, the Timberwolves may also be without one of their star players as they have listed Rudy Gobert as questionable.

Gobert returned in Monday night's victory after he had been sidelined since Feb. 12 due to a back injury. He had a solid return and Minnesota will desperately need his defensive prowess against Jokic on Wednesday.

If Gobert does miss Wednesday's matchup, expect Naz Reid to return to the starting lineup and fill in for him.

Fans can catch Wednesday's matchup between the Timberwolves and Nuggets from Denver at 10:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.
