Koni de Winter is attracting interest from West Ham United and a plethora of other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Graham Potter is keen to address his side’s defensive frailties in the coming months with West Ham having conceded 48 league goals already this season, the fifth-most of any side in the Premier League.
The Hammers have tightened up at the back since Potter’s appointment on 9 January with just nine conceded in his eight games, but the 39 shipped under Julen Lopetegui have left West Ham in trouble.
Sat 16th in the table, albeit with a 16-point cushion to the bottom three, West Ham fans want the current campaign to end as soon as possible, with a view to fixing their numerous problems in the summer.

West Ham told to pay £25.2m for Koni de Winter transfer
West Ham will be on the hunt for defensive reinforcements in the coming transfer window despite adding Max Kilman, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo last summer; the latter being on loan from Nice.

Genoa’s 22-year-old centre-back Koni de Winter has emerged as their top target, but Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb reported on 11 March that the Irons will face competition from as many as eight clubs.
With Genoa valuing De Winter at £25.2million, the Belgian gathers interest from Inter, Napoli and Roma, as well as Manchester United, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Porto across Europe.

De Winter deal looks a long shot for West Ham
It appears that half of Europe is keen to add De Winter to their squad this summer, including two of West Ham’s direct Premier League rivals, and that doesn’t bode well for the Irons’ chances of signing him.
While Manchester United and Spurs are, like West Ham, both having below-par seasons and join them in the Premier League’s bottom half, both remain firmly in contention to win the Europa League title.
Victory for either would book them a place in next season’s Champions League, where they’d join the likes of Inter, Napoli, Bayern and Porto; putting West Ham at an immediate disadvantage in their own bid.
The Hammers have been able to beat Europe’s top sides to in-demand players of late, such as Todibo last summer, but after a season to forget on and off the pitch, signing De Winter may be a step too far.
