It’s time to go from legal tampering to the official start of 2025 NFL free agency.
The new league year is set to kick off at 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday. That’s the point teams can officially sign contracts, complete proposed trades and make other roster moves that have been in the wings.
The New England Patriots have been busy on the free agent market, signing some of the biggest names on the board. Those deals can officially be signed Wednesday.
But there may be more moves to be made. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to hit the market. Meanwhile, there are other players who can still sign.

NEWS: Rams have told Cooper Kupp they intend to release him -- The star WR is set to be cut at the start of the new league year, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports.
SIGNING: WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Seattle -- It’s a one-year deal worth $5.5 million, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.
SIGNING: DB Damar Hamlin staying in Buffalo -- The safety has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Bills, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.
SIGNING: DT Larry Ogunjobi to Buffalo -- The former Steelers defensive lineman has agreed to a one-year, $8.3 million deal with the Bills, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
SIGNING: DE Joey Bosa to Buffalo -- The star pass rusher has agreed to a one-year, $12.6 million deal with the Bills, according to ESPN.
SIGNING: WR Demarcus Robinson to San Francisco -- It’s a two-year, $9.5 million deal for Robinson, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.
Patriots signings and trades from this week
Here are all of the notable Patriots-related moves we’ve seen in free agency.
SIGNING: WR Mack Hollins — The Patriots are bringing in Mack Hollins on a two-year deal, $8.4 million deal, according to MassLive’s Mark Daniels.
SIGNING: QB Josh Dobbs — In need of a backup quarterback for Drake Maye, the Patriots signed Josh Dobbs to a two-year deal, according to his agent Mike McCarthy.
SIGNING: DL Milton Williams -- Initially, there was a report that the Panthers were finalizing a deal to land Willams. However, the Patriots later came in and snatched him away, signing him to a deal with $26 million per year, according to NFL Network.
TRADE:Davon Godchaux to the Saints - New England is moving on from one of its defensive starters, sending Godchaux to New Orleans in exchange for a seventh-round pick. Godchaux wasn’t considered a good fit in the Patriots' new defensive scheme under Mike Vrabel.
SIGNING: OTMorgan Moses to New England -- The Patriots finally got some help at offensive tackle, landing veteran Morgan Moses on a three-year, $24 million deal, according to NFL Network.
