Mason Mount has not had an easy time at Manchester United following his move from Chelsea.
Erik ten Hag had high hopes when Mason Mount joined from Chelsea for £55m and was handed the iconic No.7 shirt at Manchester United.
However, two seasons into his time at the club, Mount has been plagued by injuries which has stopped him from fulfilling his potential.
Ruben Amorim adored Mount from his very first day as United head coach and he sees him as a perfect tactical fit in a No.10 position in his 3-4-2-1 formation.
But his lack of reliability has caused headaches for Ten Hag and now Ruben Amorim – and patience is quickly running out.

Mason Mount returns from injury
Back in December, Mount was in tears after a hamstring injury against Manchester City, but he is now back in training at Carrington.
Mount will not face Real Sociedad, but he is back with the first team and nearing a return to action.
More United News
There are now just 75 days left until Manchester United end the 2024/25 season with a Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
Before then, Mount has to prove that he still has a future in a red shirt. Not only does that mean staying fit, but also nailing down a spot in Amorim’s side.
If he fails to do so, he could be put on the chopping block by Ineos in the summer.
Ineos could sell Mason Mount this summer
Amorim has warned his squad that players will be sold this summer. The United boss has not been afraid to throw around the word “underperforming” since his appointment, and that will not be accepted for much longer.
Mount definitely falls into the (admittedly very large) pool of underperforming players at United, and there is a growing feeling that Mount is running out of chances to turn things around.
Ineos are expected to hold a mass clearout this summer with Amorim’s squad set for an overhaul.
If Mount cannot prove his worth in Amorim’s squad over the next 75 days, there is a good chance he could be leaving Old Trafford in the summer.

Mount’s value has plummeted from the £55m United paid for him in 2023, but Ineos have already proven that they are not afraid to clear out the squad using loans or cut-price deals.
Mount has been linked to Inter Milan throughout this season. If he wants to stay put and salvage his United career, then time is of the essence.
